 Supporting WGL International
Workers
Western Great Lakes IWs
Need Your Support
Our
WGL International Workers, at work with
the C&MA in eight countries, are an extension of District ministries
going to people and places cross-culturally to proclaim the Gospel
message. It is vital for our congregation to see and understand C&MA
missions and to participate in the “ownership” in the tasks of our IWs.
You can help build Christ's Church around
the world by donating online to the
Great Commission Fund.
All of the IWs listed under the WGL depend
on our prayer and financial support during their home service
assignments, approved specials relating to their missions work, and
greatly appreciate our correspondence while on the field.
Approved specials are those specific projects that our
District IWs are involved in, which are officially approved by C&MA
leadership. These projects are only funded through the special,
designated giving of friends and churches. These projects are not funded
with Great Commission Fund monies and are not part of the field budget.
The IWs are dependent upon the church families in the WGL to meet these
needs.
How To Pray For International
Workers
Praying for IWs is a
vital part of the IW effort.
Every Christian can pray. No matter what your spiritual experience or
measure of faith, you can pray. Most of us know that we should pray for
our IWs but we lack the discipline of doing it in a regular and
consistent manner. Here are some helpful hints:
Target your prayers. As WGL District IWs tour the district you have an
opportunity to get to know them personally. Make it a point of focusing
in on a few. Keep your prayer list to no more than three that are a
special concern to you.
Pray specifically. Know your IW by name. Know the whole family. Have a
picture at the kitchen table, on the refrigerator, at work or anywhere
so that you will be reminded of them throughout the day.
Pray daily. A few minutes each day is better than an hour only once in a
while. The best way to do it is to make it a life habit - at the
breakfast table, over lunch or before bed. Just do it!
